Candle Kits Perfect for Beginners

Hello Beauties!!

As I have slowly started getting more and more interested in candle making, I started to try out candle making kits to see which one's I loved and have very easy to follow instructions, as well as all of the materials you need to make your own batch of homemade candles. I found this kit to be wonderful as a beginner kit.

This candle kit (#ad) comes with all of the things you need plus extra supplies just in case you make a mistake. The kit includes:

Candle Making Supplies with Candle Jars, Soy Wax, Candle Wicks, Color Dyes, Fragrance Oil and Capacity Pot, Candle Making Arts and Crafts for Adults and Beginners

When making candles, you generally want to follow the rule of thumb that you use 6% oil to each 16 ounces of wax. 1 oz is 30 ml so 16 oz would be 480 mls. Then you would multiply that 480 by 6% or .06 and that would give you 28.8 mls (almost an oz. So, to make it easier for those of us mathematically challenged, use about 1 ounce of fragrance oil to each pound of wax).
This particular kit comes with 48 oz of wax and 6 10 ml bottles of essential oils. 60 mls of essential oils. This is perfect because in this kit, you will need approximately 43.2 mls of oil, so you will have plenty of oil and wax (1.5 lbs extra). Some oils offer more of a scent throw, so you can lookup online to see what the particular oil you are using, to see what the recommended ratio would be.
You receive 6 4 oz tins, a measuring pot to melt your wax, wicks, color wax to dye your wax to match the scent of your candle and a thermometer to check what temp your wax is at and helps you figure out when to add your oils (this will all be in the instruction manual. When melting your wax, I use a double boiler to ensure that the wax does not burn.
I also weigh out my wax and do each candle separately, so my oil isn't mixed with other oils-same goes with the colored wax.
*Note: Over time, you will be able to figure out what scents smell good together and can experiment with mixing scents.*
With the extra wax that you do have, you can do a couple of things. I save my extra wax for future projects, just like I do with my oils. You can also order more essential oils (#ad) and candle tins (#ad).
Please let me know what you think of this kit and how it worked for you.
